This song was written in the wintertime after I moved to Hyde Park. I had just set up my keyboard and just sat down and started playing these chords. I had an entire vocal verse for the first part of the song, but never really felt like the words belonged there because the music was so heavily emotional. I decided to have Angel and Adam come by the house and I cooked because that's what we do when we go to each other's homes. I remember being like this is what I have so far yall, I need some horns on this.. And like some type of bridge.. And Angel was like.. Yo let's just do a whole free part in the middle of the song and then just come back to the end.. I was like that’s doooope. And so we practiced it like that and have been doing it in this format ever since.. Actually.. We met Scottie.. Performing this song at a show in Pilsen for AMFM.. and he was like yo can I play drums with you all.. And the quartet on this album was born.
